Tee Plahay

Tee is an experienced counsellor with for over 20 years experience and has previously worked as a counselling supervisor. Tee graduated from Huddersfield University with a degree in counselling and has continued to gain knowledge, skills and experience to further her professional career.

Tee has wide experience of counselling with children and young people, and has worked at Northorpe Hall Child and Family Trust and with adults at Womencentre.

The ability to develop a relationship with a young person is critical to the counselling process and Tee prides herself in the ability to work and respond to young people without judgment. Tee reflects that this can be one of the biggest fears with the clients she has worked with. Tee provides a safe, confidential space which gives the young person an opportunity to explore and understand the issues that may be affecting them, in their life. Over the years she has worked with a diverse range of clients in various settings including those specialising in issues relating to childhood experiences, bereavement, self harm; anger and anxiety to name a few.

Tee's counselling work varies and she is able to use several different approaches including art and play therapy.

Tee has further qualifications in cultural counselling so is able to understand her clients better and is conversant in several languages.

Tee undertakes regular continued professional development to support her practice and in keeping with the BACP requirements, and always works to it's professional and ethical standards.

Tee has always been there to support those around her in their time of need and considers herself a knowledgeable, genuine and caring individual with patience and excellent listening skills.
